The mother of all days has come....
It's like picture day for your children only with single celled yeast !
Today no analysis occurred but plenty of other stuff did ! As promised the microscopic analysis will follow but now an importan5 designation. RL-1.2 LAZARUS has undergone significant changes today one that I'll be honest
Dam near gave me an anxiety attack doing it but science prevails!
RL-1.2 LAZARUS BECOMES RL-2.2 Argonaut
After preparing the new breeding vessel for the new strain the math started... boiling it down a 300mL solution of water had 91.08792g of sugar dissolved in it to form a 30% glucose + water solution. Btw that's 4 tablespoons calculated to solid volume using density... you get the point.
RL-1.2 LAZARUS had about 100mL of the topmost layer of Agar pipetted off the surface to extract the youngest healthiest cells which were then planted into the 30% agar vessel.
Then I added a crushed multivitamin tablet plus 28 drops of our fertilizer to give our new substrate a fortified nutrient base. We crushed 2 grapes and also added this to our solution this will provide new genetic materials to our new sample thus the Argonaut is born.
Now for the pre transfer micro-analysis
Yeast cell shape is positively fantastic
Smaller cells alongside parent cells show fresh cell division as you can see with very little damage to the parent cell indicating optimal genetic replication or what I like to call picture perfect
